Andrew Jorgensen was the maternal grandfather of the donor. The tag was used by Andrew while sheriff in Audubon County. Andrew Jorgensen was born June 24, 1875, and came from Denmark in 1881. He settled in Audubon County and was married on June 26, 1896. He was a farmer for a while then became sheriff after moving into town. Andrew died January 8, 1928, while in office serving his fourth term (each term being two years long). |
