Description |
Metal men's ring. Has a flat top in an oval shape. On the flat surface is imprinted an eagle with "1918" directly above it. Above it is inside a red banner "WORLD WAR," and across the center of the eagle is "VETERAN" inside a white banner, and at the bottom is inside a blue banner "AEF." There is an eagle on either side of the face. Ring is misshapen. On inside "STERLING" is stamped. |

Jens P. Jensen was born July 31, 1893, and died August 25, 1970. He immigrated to the U.S. in 1913, and joined the Army in 1918. He served until Armistice Day. Reported to Camp Dodge in Des Moines, then served in France. After the war, he went back to farming, as he had done prior to it, in the local area. He married Johanne Jorgine Jensen in 1924. He didn't talk much about the war. |
