Description |
Needlework on black cloth depicting two branches of flowers and leaves. The branches are in the center of the image and divide into approximately six other small branches, each ending in either an open flower (three) or a bud (three). Both the branches and the leaves are green in color. The flowers and buds are red and pink. The needlework is housed under glass in a white painted wood frame with a raised external perimeter. A piece of label tape is located at the lower viewer's right corner of the glass, yellow, reading "MAREN PEDERSEN". The backing is particle board that has been taped in, and hanging wire is attached. |

Needlework picture on black cloth depicting a branch of flowers and leaves. The artifact is housed under glass in a wood frame. It was completed by Maren Petersen, the donor's stepmother. According to handwritten notes in the file, Maren, maiden name Johansen, came to the United States in 1923 because her brother and sister resided in Audubon, Iowa. Originally she was a school teacher near Gandrup, Denmark. |
