This wedding suit belonged to the donor's father, Chris C. Larsen. He married Metta Marie Esbeck at the Bethany Lutheran Church east of Kimballton on May 21, 1910. The couple made their home 5.5 miles south of Elk Horn, Iowa where they farmed. The couple had eight children. The information above was gathered from a letter the donor wrote. There are a few more details pertaining to family history in that letter. ----------------------------------------------------------- Additional Family History Notes: The donor's maternal grandfather was Peter Esbeck. "Peter was born in Jutland, Denmark, and came with his family in 1868 at age 18. He helped establish Elk Horn and Kimballton. Peter told about helping to build the railroad from Kimballton to Atlantic. Peter married Martina in 1886, farmed east of Kimballton, and raised 6 children. Five living children were Rosa Dorothea Esbeck Johnson Paulsen, Meta Marie Esbeck Larsen (Anders), Paul Christian Esbeck, Nels Peter Esbeck, and Christina Victoria Esbeck Petersen (Nick)". |
