Description |
A table or candle dipping stand. The table has a circular, dark wooden top. The top has 12 slots along the edge that are spaced evenly apart. Candle dippers (1988.067.001g-r) fit into slots, allowing the candles to dry. The top fits onto a pedestal base. In between the top and the base, there is a small wooden disc with 8 holes. A marble fits into each hole. The table top is placed on top of the marbles. Another disc is placed on top of the table top at center and a large bolt is put through the center. The marbles allow the tabletop to spin 360 degrees. The pedestal base has three feet. It is rounded at center. |

This candle dipping stand or table was built by donor Axel Hermansen, a Danish immigrant.The stand was patterned after pictures from the National Museum in Denmark. It was made in 1965 for a folk fair in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The candle dippers (1988.067.001g-r) fit into slots along the edge of the candle dipping stand.
