Provenance |
These pieces belonged to the donor's paternal grandparents, Jens Pedersen (later Westergaard) and Anna (or Ane--two spellings in donor's information) Marie Eskildsen Pedersen Westergaard (born 1863). The two married October 9, 1883. The donor's notes say Knud, Ellen's father, immigrated to the U.S. by ship in 1915, and then settled on a farm co-operated by two brothers in Whiting, Iowa. The candle holders were given to the donor by a cousin whose mother was Ellen's father's sister (so Ellen's aunt). Ellen was visiting Esbjerg when she received them. |
