Description |
A small, three legged table. The table top is a thick, flat piece of wood that is triangular shaped with rounded corners. On the top is a leaf and cherry design burned into the wood. The 3 legs are narrow, flat pieces of wood with a leaf design burned into them. The legs bow outward at the top then curve inward at the middle then spread outward again at the bottom. At the top of the legs there is masking tape so the legs can not slide out from the table top. |

Provenance |
Christian Neergaard, the donor's father, did the burn work. This was one of his hobbies. Most of the pieces he did with a gas pen, very long ago, and they are deep and rich. Some years later they came out with an electric pen, which of course he had to try too, and they too are very pretty, but not as rich as the old gas ones. The pieces in this gift are all made with the gas pen. While Rita was away from Kenosha in Washington DC and Europe in the 1940's, a friend used the stool as a plant stand. |
