Description |
Vertical red ribbon primarily made of silk with plastic and brass pin or bar at the top. The pin or bar is white plastic with brass trim. It is oblong in shape with a scalloped top and bottom. Inside the bar at the center is hands shaking. Under the bar is a white ribbon piece with two American flags with silver poles crossing. Under that is a round button white background color with a silver edge. In the middle of button is a blue human eye. Over the eye are the letters F L T inside a chain linked together which is gold in color. Over the top of pin is INDEPENDENT ORDER OF ODD FELLOWS. Under the round button is the lettering MARNE/LODGE NO. 366,/then a scroll type design/MARNE, IOWA. The ribbon ending with gold fringe at bottom. The back of ribbon is black with white lettering. There is the scroll type design at the top then under that is "In Memoriam" then scroll design under that. Then a shield type design which reads INDEPENDENT/ORDER then under that is the lettering F L T in the chain link design and another eye under that. Then under that is ODD FELLOWS. This is all surrounded by a wheat type design which is tied at the bottom. Under that is MARNE/LODGE, NO. 366, followed by the scroll design and then MARNE, IOWA. The bottom of ribbon also has gold fringe. |

This badge was owned by the donor, Agnes Johnson. ---------------------------------------- Harald Peter Johnsen (Johansen) was born April 20, 1863 in Saby, Denmark. He immigrated to the U.S. in 1883, and died May 8, 1948. He was the donor's paternal grandfather. Managed METC from 1909-1940. Rasmus Locke Rasmussen, born Nov. 9, 1869, in Aarhus, Denmark. Immigrated 1893, died April 25, 1941. He married August 24, 1894 to Birthe Christine Christensen. Birthe was born April 11, 1872 in Æro, Denmark. She immigrated in 1891, and died in 1957. These were Agnes' mother's parents. |
