Description |
A solid brass paperweight made in the shape of an anvil. The anvil is supported on a rectangular base with beveled sides. The anvil has a sharp point on one end and a flat rectangular shape on the opposite end. On top, at the rectangular end, are two holes. It is not clear what purpose, if any, they have. The bottom of the paperweight has red felt glued to it. |

Provenance |
The paperweight was made a Mr. Christiansen, a friend from Kolding. The paperweight was originally owned by Mary's husband, Oscar Aaroe. Mr. Christiansen also made a brass desk set for Marinus Larson, brother-in-law of Mary Aaroe. Marinus settled in Omaha. Oscar Aaroe settled in California and was a silversmith. He had apprenticed with Georg Jensen, a well known Danish silversmith. |
