Description |
Small metal paperweight with a mini-anvil decoration. The base is a rectangular shaped piece of metal with beveled edges, which are slightly curved. The bottom of the base is covered with a piece of black felt approximately 1/8" thick. The anvil decoration (15/16"L x 1/2" T) is placed in the center of the base. There are no distinguishable markings on it. |

Almost all items in this accession relate to the donor's grandfather, Asmus Christian Vogt (Fogt, original Danish spelling--changed after immigrating). He was born in Nakskov, Denmark on Dec. 13, 1868. He immigrated to the U.S.--Omaha, NE--1892. He died in Evanston, IL on June 10, 1949. During his lifetime, Vogt practiced metalworking.
