Description |
Copper tea kettle lid handcrafted by copper "suiter" from Denmark. Round, and has three layers to it, not including the goldish colored knob on top. Each layer higher than the last. Can see heat residue on the underside. Also on the underside is a piece of yellow tape with "DIRK" handwritten on it. (Proper right and left used throughout catalog.) |

This lid came with its kettle came from Denmark with Jess and Johanne Muller in 1884. Their daughter, Kristine Muller Rasmussen, brought it to her marriage to Jens Andersen in 1911, and then to their house in 1914 when they moved into the home they had built. Jens and Kristine's son Holger brought it back to Kimballton to donate to the Museum. |
