(a)Sewing box, wooden, with top handle extending from side to side, two rectangular (flap) doors at top opening out from center, each door has a small wooden knob handle, body of sewing box is rounded with two end pieces, end pieces have cut-out area to form legs, sliding wooden thread tray rests within body of sewing box. Sewing box contains the following items: (numerous): ·(b)S&H Green Stamps booklet (filled) with 173 extra green stamps joined in various number groupings. ·(c)Torn page from Farm Journal, March 1938 issue, pg. 63. ·(d)Alice Brooks Pattern instruction sheet for Crocheted Square, #7265. ·(e)Two writing tablet sheets of lined paper with hand-written (in pencil) directions for various stitches in crochet. ·(f)Wax-like pattern envelope, directions and pattern pieces for apron, Anne Adams Instructor, #4493, size medium. ·(g1)Capper's Weekly Needlecraft Service envelope postmarked (no date) in New York, NY with one cent postage, addressed to Mrs. Erik Thor. Contents of envelope include: ·(g2)Template of heavy stock brown paper for a four-petal flower/4 leaves, handwritten on front Marie Kester, Pilger, Nebr., Rt. 1. Dimensions: 8"x8". ·(g3)Template of heavy stock brown paper (hexagon) for center of flower. Dimensions: from side to side - approximately 3 1/4" with some variations. ·(g4)Envelope addressed to Mrs. Erik Thor from Mrs. Juel Miller, postmarked 1939 and a 3 cent stamp. Contents of envelope include: ·(g4a) Templates made from cardboard for 3 sizes of circles; large circle has inscription Takes 64 Black; medium circle has inscription takes 100 of these / all one color; small circle has inscription 100 different color for each row. Diameters: large: 2 1/2"; medium: 1 3/4"; small: 1 1/8". (g4b)Template made from cardboard in shape of tear drop and has inscription Takes 36 of these / Black / Last row. Dimensions: 2 1/2" x 4 1/2". ·(g4c)Piece of square tablet paper with penciled sketch/diagram of pattern with inscription Keep working around. Dimensions: 4 5/8" x 5". ·(h1)Envelope of The Omaha World-Herald, Pattern Department addressed to Mrs. Erik Thor, postmarked Chicago, ILL., with metered postage. Contents of envelope include: ·(h2)Carbon paper, rectangular piece. Dimensions: 10" x 2 5/8". ·(h3)Envelope (empty) addressed to Mrs. Eric Thor, Stanton, Nebraska, and postmarked Wisner, Nebr., on Oct. 13, 1935, and 3 cent postage stamp. ·(h4)Sheet of plain paper with penciled sketch/pattern of cascading flowers and basket. Dimensions: 10 1/2" x 7 3/16".. ·(h5)Alice Brooks instruction sheet for Crocheted Square, #7417 (printing on one side only). . ·(h6)Template of heavy stock brown paper (hexagon shape) with inscription One of these in white with names and address embroidered in black. Dimensions: from side to side - approximately 6 1/16" with some variations. ·(h7)Template of heavy stock brown paper (diamond gem shape) with inscription Six of these of prints for points of star. Contents of envelope include: ·(I2)Tissue paper pattern pieces (unmarked). ·(I3)Anne Adams Instructor sheet for apron, #4684, printed on one side. ·(j1)Envelope of Woman's World with no name or address of sendee, postmarked at New York, N.Y., with one cent metered postage; backside of envelope has written in pencil in large lettering Happy Birthday. Contents of envelope include: ·(j2)Alice Brooks Transfer Pattern 5746 (embroidery work) of instructions and various patterns (printed on one side of paper). ·(j3)Transfer pattern (embroidery work) of dog behind teapot and tea cup/saucer with word along bottom CHINA. ·(j4)Transfer pattern (embroidery work) of dog/knife/pie server/ladle with word along bottom SILVER; stamped No. 5746. ·(j5)(Set of 6) Transfer patterns (embroidery work) (has been traced with lead pencil) of Dutch girl representing duties for certain days of the week; represented are Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. ·(j6)Transfer pattern (embroidery work) of two kittens and pan, words along bottom Saturday Bake. ·(j7)Transfer pattern (embroidery work) of various patterns for panholders or towel, along with a test tied bouquet of flowers pattern, also stamped No. C8690 Made in U.S.A. ·(k1-14)14 wooden spools of six-cord embroidery thread in various sizes and colors of purple, light purple, dark royal blue, medium royal blue, sky blue, medium green, light green, light brown, black, burgundy, red, pink, gold, and yellow/peach. ·(l)Embroidery needle (inserted through gold thread on wooden spool); dimensions: 1 11/16" length. ·(m)Embroidery needle threaded with strand of six-ply pink embroidery thread. Dimensions: needle: 2 3/8" length; thread: 39 3/4". ·(n1-9)9 pull skeins of embroidery thread (6 strand cotton) in various colors of (1) black, (2) green, (1) pink, (1) lavender, (4) royal blue. ·(o)1 pull skein of ivory embroidery thread, single-ply, Flosselle Size 16. ·(p)1 "eye" from hook & eye set; black metal. ·(q)1 wooden bead, cylinder shape, painted robin egg blue color.
