Description |
A black almost dark brown leather wallet with a notebook and pencil on the inside. The back and front cover or outside of the wallet have a decorative trim of three indented lines running parallel to each other. The front has a triangle flap that holds the piece shut. The wallet opens up into three sections. First section, viewer's left, is just a simple pocket. The middle section is a large pocket with a buckle. The last section, viewer's right, is an attached notebook and pencil. On the notebook, the word "Note" is seen in metallic gold in cursive print. When the notebook is first opened up, there is a very festive pattern of multiple colors. The writing in the notebook is in pen and pencil. Pages have been removed. Dates written in the notebook range from "1874" to "1898." There are many lines of handwriting, some in another language. In pencil on one page, "Jens P. Andersen / Elk Horn / R1, IA" is in cursive writing. There is also a "Christen Christensen" mentioned. One page has many of the number "3" written on it. |
