Description |
Etching: The rectangular, horizontally oriented etching depicts a row of four boats along the side of a canal. The first three have their sails up. Along the dock are a line of buildings. In the distance on the viewer's left is a white tower with a cross on top. The reflection of the boats is visible in the water. Handwritten in pencil below the image on the viewer's left is: "Fredrickholms Kanal". Handwritten in pencil on the right is: "Thr. Jorgensen". Frame: The print is held within a wooden frame with glass across the front. The frame is faced with plaster and painted gold. The outer edges of the frame extend forward. A piece of brown paper board on the back of the photograph is held to the frame with nails. A piece of thin brown paper on top of that board is adhered around the edges of the frame. A piece of wire is strung between two eye screws on either side of the back of the frame. |
