Description |
A jewelry box made of light burnt wood. The burnt areas are a dark brown color and the untouched areas are a light blond color. It is textured and has a flower design on top and on three of the sides, the back and bottom are plain, unadorned wood. There is a metal, brass hook on front and 2 metal brass hinges on back. The box is smooth inside though there is a small amount of staining inside. |

The small jewelry box was made by Danish immigrant Fred Dahl. It was a gift to his sister-in-law, Nomie Petersen (the donor's mother). She received it in May 1921, prior to her wedding. Fred Dahl was a native of Hjorring, Denmark. |
