Description |
White square tablecloth. Decorated with hemstitching and embroidery. Towards the proper center of the tablecloth, there is a square shape created by floral embroidery in white thread. To the outer edges, there are 8 pairs of crossed Danish Splitflags embroidered in red and white thread, with eight small floral designs interspersed between them. |

This tablecloth was a wedding gift to Gerald and Magda (née Jensen) Scherer. The couple was married in November 1929. This tablecloth was hemstitched and embroidered by two of Magda's cousins in Denmark. Magda was born in 16 August 1908 in Copenhagen, Denmark to John and Christine Jensen. She was their only child. John Jensen immigrated to Kenosha, Wisconsin in November of 1913 and began to work and save money. Wife Christine and daughter Madga were able to immigrate to Kenosha in June of 1914. Magda was the donor's husband cousin. Roy Hansen's mother was John Jensen's sister. |
