Description |
Decorative Bing and Grødahl plate from 1921. The plate is made from porcelain and decorated with a winter scene. This plate is one from a series of Christmas plates issued by the Bing and Grøndahl company each year. The scene depicted is of two pigeons in the foreground, one looking to the left and the other picking food up from the snow. In the background there is a large neo-classical building with a dome and birds flying around it. At the bottom of the plate, it reads "Jule-Aften-1921"On the back of the plate, there are several makers marks which indicate that the plate was made in Denmark. There are also two small holes in the top center of the plate used for displaying the plate. |
