Description |
This pocket watch has a round body. At the top of the body is a wind that has a circular shaft and a rounded ball that is ridged. Around the shaft and ball is a piece of brass that is shaped somewhat like a kidney bean. The glass front covers the face of the watch. Starting at the top, going clockwise, the clock is numbered 1-12, with 12 being at the top. The number "6" is not shown. In it's place is a "second counter". This part has a shiny gold color and black detailing with a small black hand. In the middle of all the numbers is a golden colored circular decoration with an ornate design. Near the top of this is a small rectangular label that reads "ELGIN". The "second" counter circle slightly overlaps this center decoration at its bottom. The minute and hour hand are black and ornately designed with very sharp points. They are pivoted at the center of the watch, with the second hand resting slightly above the four and the hour hand slightly in front of where the "6" would be. Around the outside are small gold dots representing each minute in the hour. The back casing of the watch is gold colored. It's back has an ornate flower and leaf design with several different textures. In this ornate design is the initials "JDJ", standing for John Dalberg Jacobsen. |
