Description |
A sewing or needlework sampler. The needlework sampler is made of off-white cotton or linen. The sampler is rectangular in shape with a slight arch or curve due to the variety of practice pleats and seams. There are several types of embroidery stitches, openwork, a pair of button holes with white buttons, pleats, and ruching at one end creating a ruffle. There are practice monograms or letters that are embroidered at one end as well. Red and blue thread used for the sampler. |
