Objects in this gift lot were owned by Andrew Hansen and Christina Christensen Kroman and their five sons: Peter, Albert, Howard, Robert, and Donald. ----------------------------- Family History: Andrew Hansen Kroman was one of two children born to Peter Hansen Kroman. Peter Hansen Kroman and his wife (who was called Bertha, but that may not have been her given name), moved to the Elk Horn, Iowa area circa 1876. Their son Andrew was born November 1878 and daughter Johanna was born in 1884. Johanna died in 1902. Andrew's wife, Christina Christensen, was also born in the United States. Andrew and Christina were married in 1910 (date in paper file vary from April or June 21 of that year) in Elk Horn. Andrew and Christina moved into Andrew's parent's home. They built a home in 1917, where they remained all their lives. They farmed in the Elk Horn area and had five sons: Peter, Albert, Howard, Robert, and Donald. |
