Provenance |
These curtain stretchers belonged to the donor's mother Christine Olsen and were used on a farm near Ames, Nebraska. The donor remembers her using them for the dining and living room curtains. Christine was born January 21, 1896, and emigrated from Samsø, Denmark in 1914 when she was 18. She married Charles Olsen on October 14, 1921, and the two had three children. Christine was a homemaker on the farm near Ames, Nebraska and later near Hooper, Nebraska. Charles had been born in the U.S. to Danish immigrant parents. |
