Description |
Small white ceramic hippopotamus. The hippo figurine has no decoration, but has distinctive features on the head. The hippo has two feet for it to stand upright on. The mouth of the hippo is wide open and there are four teeth represented in the design. The hippo also has nostrils and two eyes and two ears. On the back of the hippo, he has a small tail. The bottom of the feet of the hippo have an unglazed surface, which also shows the manufacturing marks. |

Provenance |
Margaret Christensen, wife of Carl Christensen and daughter of Walter and Anna Larsen, was born June 23, 1918 in Forrest Park, Illinois. She married Carl in Chicago in June 30, 1951. In the early 1950s she co-founded the Danish Young People's Club in Chicago. She and Carl moved to Denver, Colorago in 1961 where she was an active member of the Denver Danes. Margaret passed away January 15, 2000. |
