Description |
One of 11 necklaces used by the Danish Sisterhood Lodge 151 of LuVerne, ND. It is a red twisted cord or rope as the "chain." This is wound around itself at the bottom for stability and a small gold ring is attached. Hanging on this ring is a silver colored pendant shaped like a sword; symbol for outer guard. It is attached so that the handle is up and the point is down. Nothing on back. |

These items were part Danish Sisterhood Lodge #151 of of the Luverne, ND and were found in the home of Jean McKee. His mother, Helga Jacobsen McKee, was one of the last surviving members of the Sisterhood. Mr. and Mrs. McKee donated them to the Red River Danes, but they decided that in order to better protect them, they should be donated to the museum. |
