Description |
Square light blue canvas material with unfinished white ribbon design. There are guidelines drawn on the canvas to indicate where the remaining ribbon should go. Part of a kit for "Modern Lace Making" (1985.013.030a-h). Proper center of canvas features an eagle with a shield. The eagle's left wing is outstretched, while the bird's head and right wing are in profile. Towards the bottom of the shield, there is an arrow (presumably clasped in the eagle's talons, although this is obscured by the shield). Floral decorations along the outer edges. At the proper left bottom corner, some of the floral designs have lace inserts. Half of the canvas has cardboard-like backing material stitched to it with large loose stitches. One edge of this backing has fluted tips with scalloped edges. The surface of the backing sewn to the canvas has a printed design of a grid in gold. |
