Provenance |
This quilt was made at Oaks Indian Mission in Oaks, Oklahoma in the early 1920s. Quilts were made and sold as a money-making project at that time. According to the donor, the Indian Mission work in the area of Oaks, Oklahoma, was first undertaken by the Moravians. The Moravians then turned the Oaks Indian School and Mission over to the Mission Board of the Danish Evangelical Lutheran Church of Blair, Nebraska, in 1903. |
