Description |
Red plastic bag, rectangular, flat. Sealed at the two sides and bottom, zipper at the top - also red. On one side is printed in white "1991 National Convention / Portland, Oregon / The Danish Brotherhood / Portland Lodge #167 / The Danish Sisterhood / of America / Portland Lodge #81 / Courtesy of: Little Chapel of the Chimes/Portland, Oregon / and Bleitz Funeral Home/Seattle, Washington". On the viewer's left of the lettering is a white image of a rose with three leaves - each leaf looks like a flag (U.S., Denmark, and Canada). Nothing on back. Inside at the back top center is an address label for the original owner Florence Glover. White paper, gold trim, black text, and a maple leaf on the viewer's left side. |

This bag was owned by the donor's mother Florence Glover who was a member of the Danish Sisterhood Lodge #163 in Austin, Minnesota. Florence was born here in the United States, the daughter of Danish immigrants Karl Otto Mortensen and Maren Ditlefsen Mortensen. Florence was one of ten children. Karl and Maren died young and the children were orphaned. |
