Description |
Decorative Bing and Grødahl plate from 1932. The plate is made from porcelain and decorated with a winter scene. This plate is one from a series of Christmas plates issued by the Bing and Grøndahl company each year. The scene depicted is a group of men in a small boat wearing lifevests getting ready to launch into the turbulant ocean. In the background, there is a small ship amongst the high waves. There are also small stars in the sky. At the bottom of the plate, it reads "Jule-Aften-1932" On the back of the plate, there are several makers marks which indicate that the plate was made in Denmark. There are also two small holes in the top center of the plate used for displaying the plate. |
