Feather tick/mattress. Wool covering filled with downy feathers. The wool is brown/grey in color, with horizontal stripes of dark red, purple and white. Colorful fringe tassels on corners, consisting of blue, green, red, peach and cream fibers. |

Provenance |
The feather tick belonged to Anton and Martha Peitersen, the parents of donor Irene Peitersen Boose. They would place it on their bed every winter. Martha used this feather tick until her death in 16 June 1957. The donor inherited the feather tick and placed it in storage, never using it. |
