Description |
A wedding bodice. The bodice is made from white cotton. There is a high lace collar that folds over the shoulders. There is a row of white plastic buttons at front. Across the chest, beginning at the top and moving down, there is a row of embroidered leaves, cutwork circles, and flowers with cutwork accents. The same designs carry over to the upper portion of the sleeves. The middle of the sleeve has darting. The lower portion of the sleeve has embroidered leaves and cutwork circles. The cuffs are trimmed with lace. |

Axel Christiansen in Northfield, Minnesota. 1987.085.001 is a photograph of Axel and Anna Christiansen on their wedding day. Anna is wearing the wedding garments. --------------------------------------------------------- FAMILY HISTORY NOTES: F.L. Axel Christiansen was born in Denmark on April 24, 1873. He died in Lake Mills, Iowa on November 27 1953. He is buried in Salem Cemetery, Lake Mills, Iowa. Mrs. Anna Christiansen was born on April 24, 1877. She died at Cox Rest Home on Lake Mills, Iowa on August 25, 1964. She is buried at Salem Cemetery, Lake Mills, Iowa. |
