Provenance |
Six photographs (1987.125.045-.051) were found among the books donated in this gift lot. They were apparently purchased by the donor at Amanda Boldt's (likely supposed to be Boelth) sale. 1987.125.045, 1987.125.048, and 1987.125.050 all appear to have been taken at the same event, based on the subjects' clothing. The back of 1987.125.048 reads "Taken by me July 7, 1968 when we all had picnic together here at our house when Paul, Anna, and Dorthe were here from Denmark." 1987.125.049 is a photograph of Paul, Anna, and Dorthe Gade taken on July 9, 1968. Tim Fredericksen, Building and Grounds Manager, identified the house as belonging to the Boelths and being located in Kimballton, Iowa. In the description field on PastPerfect, some of the parents of the children were identified as Mr. and Mrs. Donald Sorensen and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Sorensen. There is no mention of who did the identification, and there is no evidence in the accession file to back up this claim (Sadie, Collections Intern, 1/29/2018). |
