Description |
Framed family photographic portrait of nine adult individuals. Four women are seated in chairs in the front row. They are all wearing full length skirts and long sleeved blouses. The woman on the viewer's left has a vertical pinstripe design to her garment and the woman on the viewer's right is wearing glasses. Five men are standing behind the women. They are all wearing dark colored suits, with vests and ties. Three of the men have beards and two have moustaches. The group is in a room with a rug and curtains and they are standing in front of a wooded backdrop. The image is mounted on a dark green backboard with a printed border. The studio name is in the viewer' lower right corner; "Miller/ELK HORN/IA." The artifact is housed under glass in a wood frame. The frame has a faux wood grain finish using black and brown paint and clear varnish. On the reverse side is a blue stamped quote by Peter C. Thomsen. It discusses taking pictures to Elk Horn or Kimballton, but is not completely legible. |
