Description |
Black and white photograph with a postcard backing of a woman sitting in a chair. The woman's proper left arm is resting on the chair, while her proper right hand is holding a newspaper, which she is reading. She has dark colored hair pulled back. She is wearing a dark colored dress with light colored vertical stipes. The dress has a square neckline and three quarter length sleeves. She is also wearing a cross on a double chained necklace. There is handwritten text on the back: "Sigrid Koch / around 1916". There is also printed text: "POST CARD", "CORRESPONDENCE HERE", "NAME AND ADDRESS HERE" and "AZO / PLACE / STAMP / HERE / AZO". |

Pictured here is Sigrid Kildegaard (born Koch) around 1916. Sigrid Kildegaard (born Koch) (daughter of Hans and Ane Koch) was born on September 16, 1888 in Denmark. She first arrived in America with her parents in 1893. The family eventually moved back to Denamrk some time later. She returned to America in 1908 and worked as a nanny. She eventually married Harald Kildegaard on November 16, 1924 and had three children: Eva (still-born in 1925), Agnes (born in 1926) and Selma (born in 1928). By 1967, she had married Otto Buchwald and moved to Edmonton, Alberta in Canada. She eventually died in 1978 in Bellwood, Nebraska. |
