Description |
Black and white photograph of a group of sixteen young women and eleven young men confirmands with their pastor. The first row, containing four young men and four young women, is seated. The second is also seated and contains five young women, four young men, and the pastor near the center. The back row is standing and has six young women and three young men. The young women are all dressed in light-colored dresses and most have a corsage; the men are in dark or gray-toned suits, and some of them also have corsages. The photograph is encased in a cream-colored folder with a cream and gold interior paperboard frame. Written at the top center is "1912" and "METHA LARSEN / Class of 1912" is in the upper right. There is a half-torn paper label attached in the lower left. The studio information is printed by the lower right corner of the image: "P. Th. Graversen / SKJERN". |

This photograph shows the Elk Horn Lutheran Church 1912 confirmation class, which included Metha Larsen. ----------- Metha was the daughter of Lars and (Ane) Katrine Andersen Larsen. Lars Larsen was born July 30, 1857 in Ebberup Kærum Parish, Fyn, Denmark, and later immigrated to Elk Horn, Iowa. His wife was Ane Katrine Andersen (b. Jan. 7, 1868, d. Feb. 21, 1956). Their children included Ludvig, Andreas, Jens, Andrew, Metha, Karen (died in infancy), and Anna Wells. See file for additional information. |
