It has a white decking; there other boats on either side and across the water. The one directly to the viewer left is mostly white with some wood finish and a blue cover on the back. The writing on the back reads: "Peter Petersens boat. / His father our uncle Jens Pedersen built / the boat." It is printed on "H-COLOR" / "ger goe / resultater / bedre..." paper in "JULI 1973". |

The boat shown belonged to Peter Petersen and was built by his father Jens Pedersen. Peder Christensen Pedersen (1838) and Seddon Marie Hansen (1844) had seven children: boys Hans Simondsen Petersen, Christen Pedersen, Peter Petersen, Chris Hansen Pedersen, and Jens Pedersen, and girls Sesel Marie and Mette Catherine. Hans, Christen, and Peter emigrated to Iowa while Chris and Jens stayed in Denmark. There is more family information in the accession file. |
