Description |
Black and white photograph of a large group of people and vehicles gathered at a small light-colored clapboard building with the American and Danish flags in front. There are numerous early-20th-century-style vehicles parked around the area and people milling around, especially to the viewer right. The corner of another building is visible on the far right; the background includes a dirt road and empty fields. On the back, a portion of handwriting has been whited out in the upper left. There are several groupings of other information. "The flags showed the / wind was in the east." is in the upper right corner. "July 1926" is roughly in the center. To its left and beneath it are the words "Looking north / This picture / was taken [right arrow] From the bell tower of Nathanael Luth. Church at Dagmar, Mt." Below and to the right, it reads: "Visiting Speakers spoke in the morning, afternoon / and evening." And near the center: "It was Midsummerfest days. / Right / On the east side of the meeting house / was a "Stand" where they sold pop and candy (5c each)". And, on the upper left: "[left arrow] The front of a long barn / just barely showing here. / For horses in winter sleigh / time" and finally "Jens Sundsted / Antelope, MT." |
