Description |
One of eleven photographs of people acting in an unidentified play. Black and white photograph of eleven people acting out a scene of a play on stage. There is a faux wall behind them that has flower-and-leaf patterned wallpaper and a curtained window. The two central people are a man on the viewer left, dressed in a suit and tall dark boots while holding a hat in one hand and stretching out his other toward the woman on the viewer right. She is wearing a long-sleeve light-colored blouse with a dark gray skirt; her hair is braided in a crown and she is reaching out her viewer left arm toward the man with the handlebar mustache. The rest of the people in the room, viewer left to right, include: a bearded man in a suit, hands clasping his lapels and cane slung over his arm; a woman in a dark dress; a man in a dark suit; a woman in a lighter-colored blouse and dark skirt with headscarf; a bearded man with a dark shirt; a shorter man with muttonchops in a dark suit; a woman costumed to look older seated in a chair, wearing a dark dress, bonnet, and light shawl; a man in a dark suit with a round hat, long beard and thick eyebrows; and a woman in a light-colored dress. The photograph has a white border; imprinted near the bottom right is a stamp the words "N.A. NELSON / DIKE / IOWA". There is nothing on the back. |
