Description |
Black and white photo of a bride and groom. Bride is standing at the left side of the photo (to the groom's right). She is wearing her bridal gown and veil. Her right arm is behind her. The dress has puffed sleeves and bodice, two flower decorations at the waist, and a ruffled design down the front from neckline to about the knees. The top layer of skirt ends about knee length and under skirt continues to feet. The groom is wearing a black suitcoat and pants, with a white collared shirt and white bow tie. He is seated in a wooden chair, with his right foot slightly forward. His right arm is on the armrest, and his left is in his lap. Behind them is a manufactured backdrop, with a curtain to the viewer's left and a pillar to the right. Also to the viewer's left near the bottom is the leg of another piece of furniture. In the bottom right corner in convex letters is written "VEATCH / CEDAR FALLS / OWA" (the "I" in "Iowa" is missing). On the back is handwritten in pencil "Emma + Hans Petersen / parents of Hilma / Harold Petersen". Remainder of adhesive and perhaps the scrapbook page it was adhered to is on the back at the top. (Viewer's perspective used throughout catalog.) |
