Description |
Black and white photograph of a woman and two girls in Danish folk costumes with large Danish and American flags. The mother is on the viewer left, holding Dannebrog, then the older daughter holding the American flag in the middle, and the youngest on the far viewer right holding the tip of the flying American flag. They are all dressed in folk costumes with dark skirts and vests, light-colored aprons and blouses, and hats. There is a tall building, possibly a house, behind them. The photo has a white border. There is handwriting written sideways on the back. It reads: "1926 / Mother Jenny SØRENSEN / Daughter JUNE SØRENSEN (FRostholm) / Daughter Tove SØRENSEN (SWANSON) / Trip Trap [wooden shoes drawing] / The two girls have on wooden / shoes. Apparently they were / called "Trip trap"s. / Getting ready for a Dansk Fest / in "National Dragt." "13" is stamped in purpled ink in the lower right corner. |
