In front of him is a machine that is likely part of the printing process. A pocket watch hangs from this machine in front of the man, near the wall. On back is stamped "975" along one edge and there are repeating stamps of "KODAK / VELOX / PAPER". |

This photo shows the donor's father Arne W. Jorgensen sitting at his desk at Den Danske Pioneer, the Danish language newspaper based in Chicago. Arne Jorgensen was born April 20, 1928 in Chicago to Danish immigrant parents Henry (born Heinrik Olaf Sophus Jørgensen) and Petrea Jorgensen. He went to Denmark for a time and did an apprenticeship before returning to the U.S. He then served in Korea, and later worked at Den Danske Pioneer for about 25 years, serving as Assistant Editor. |
