Description |
Large black and white photographic print of Main Street in Dagmar, Montana around 1916. It depicts several buildings on either side of a dirt road. Open fields and farmland can be seen in the distance. A line of telephone poles is located to the viewer's left of center. Between the poles and buildings on this side of the photographic print are clusters of individuals and to the right of the poles is a wood wagon. On the viewer's right side of the street is a sign which reads, "GARAGE" and a water or oil barrel that is mounted on a wagon in the foreground. More individuals are located on this side of the image. White text at center reads, "MAIN STREET/DAGMAR/MONT." The photographic print is housed in a thick wood frame. The frame is painted gray and has a wood plaque at center of the bottom edge which reads "1916" in red paint. A pencil inscription on the reverse side reads, "Wood for the frame is from/the upstairs of the old store./Frame made Feb. 1986". The store it references is the Dagmar Farmer's Cooperative General Merchandise Store. |
