Description |
Black and white photo of a ladies reading club. Four ladies are seated at a table with three standing behind them. The table is covered with a dark-colored fringed table cloth and has six books on its top and newspapers underneath it. All the women are wearing their hair in a variation of an updo and have on dresses of different styles and colors. Viewer left to right: the seated woman is wearing a light-colored dress with buttons down the front and a dark collar; the standing woman is wearing a light-colored dress with dark belt and dark thread zig-zag pattern that frames her collar and continues down the middle of the dress; the next woman is wearing a light-colored dress with a dark tie at the throat; the woman standing in the center wears a dark-colored dress with minimal light-colored frilled lace around the collar and trailing down the dress; the final seated woman is wearing a curly-cue patterned light dress with dark collar; the next woman is wearing a light dress with dark vertical pinstripes, dark belt, and lacy collar; and the final woman is wearing a light-colored dress and jacket that has floral embroidery along its edges and collar. The faux background shows a tree to the viewer left and a paned window to the right. The photo has a white border on the left side. "L H. Lauritsen" is written on the back. |
