Description |
Black and white photograph of a man standing on a narrow cobble street between buildings. The man has on a dark-colored uniform with a hat and has a drum attached at his front. He is holding drum sticks in both hands and is looking up at the buildings on the viewer's right. There are power lines above the man. On the viewer's left is a building almost completely covered with ivy. There is a doorway and two steps in the foreground. On the right are more buildings, clear of plant growth. The one in the distance has a tall tower with clock faces visible. There are more buildings in the distance as the street seems to curve to the right. At the bottom edge is printed in black "18th century buildings in the old streets of Faaborg, on the island of Funen. / (Photo: Danish National Tourist Office, 505, Fifth Ave. New York N Y 10017)." The print is not on a section that was attached--it is as if the photo was reprinted with this information printed below--same sheet of paper. On back is a white label with the following in black print near the top: "ROYAL DANISH EMBASSY / 3200 Whitehaven Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20008 / To". Near the center, written in black pen, is "Please return to" and an arrow pointing to the previous address. |
