Glossy black and white photograph, labeled, "25TH. ANNUAL CONVENTION, GENERAL COMMITTEE OF DANISH SISTERHOOD OF CALIFORNIA, OAKLAND CALIFORNIA, AUG. 26-28-1948." The photograph shows four women seated and six women standing behind them, all in formal dresses, on a stage with flower bouquets and a standing flag (one American, one Danish) on each end of the stage. The back side of the photograph has been stamped, "Commerical Studios Photographers, SEP 13 1948, 1116 Franklin St. GL. 9717. Oakland, California." Dimensions: (measurements were taken on the front side of the photograph, through the center) Width: 9.9375" Length: 8.0" Overall, the photograph is in good condition. The left and right edges of the photograph are curling inward, there are holes in each of the four corners, the outer edges are dirt smudged/scuffed, there is a yellow liquid stain in the (viewer's) bottom right hand corner, two tears in the (viewer's) upper right edge, creases in the (viewer's) bottom/center edge, black smudges along the top edge, and wrinkles/creases, scratches, and scruffs throughout the front side. The back side of the is yellowed throughout, with dark smudges around the outer edges, several yellow/brown liquid stains on the (viewer's) left side of the page, yellow spot stains along the top/center and and bottom/center edges, dirt smudges along the (viewer's) left and top/center edges, and a pencil written "2" in the (viewer's) bottom/left hand corner. The black-ink stamp that is in the (viewer's) upper right hand corner is slightly faded. |
