A collection of 7 identified and partially identified black and white studio photographic portraits of pastors or missionaries. Places/ stuidos identified in the photos include Dorge in Riverside Avenue, Minneapolis; Morgensen in Racine, Wisconsin; Mueller in Owatonna, Minnesota; Egbert in Atlantic, Iowa and Jensen and Petersen in Cedar Falls, Iowa. People identified in the photographs include Reverend Anker, Reverend P. L. C. Hansen, Reverend Lauritzsen, Missionaries Mathiesen and Bush, Reverend Carl Olsen (his son is Daniel Olsen) and Børresen of the Santal Mission (supported by Elk Horn Church). In the book, "A biographical directory of Pastors" (2010-015) it has some information that potentially relates to two of the individuals in the photos. Reverend Anker is potentially the Kristian Anker (c.1848-1928) who was born in Fyn, Denmark who was pastor in Elk Horn, Iowa from 1882-92 who left the synod after schism in 1894. Reverend Peter L. C. Hansen (1854-1921) was born in Fyn, Denmark and was pastor at the Nazareth Church in Cedar Falls, Iowa. |
