Scope / Description |
Bank check from Kimballton Danish Savings Bank. Made out to Joseph Bixler from Paul Larsen. Dated 19 December 1919. Off white paper, rectangular, and horizontal in orientation. There is a thin line border around the outer edge and all printed information is in black. Handwritten information is in dark blue ink. In the lower viewer's left corner, inside the border, is the printer information. The check is stamped in the upper left corner in purple with the date "DEC 27 1919". On back, the check has two stamps in purple over the left half, one dating "DEC 24, 1919". On the viewer's right side, written top to bottom, is Joseph Bixler's signature in blue ink. 6 1/16 x 2 5/8 Provenance: Paul Larsen lived and worked for a time in the United States, arriving here about 1910. He homesteaded in Canada and later returned to Denmark to buy a farm outside of Odense. While in the U.S. he worked on bridge construction. Larsen died around 1985-1987. |
