Scope / Description |
Souvenir pamphlet from McKinney school, 1923. Heavy white cover at top has American flag and the American eagle flying below it with banner outlined in red, School Souvenir written on the banner. Oval picture of a young girl, assume it is Alice Kragh in the center of the front cover. The following written under her picture is "To perpetuate our pleasant school day memories this token is presented to you with the kindest regards from your Teacher. At the bottom is scroll in red around a globe, books on a stand and a Aladdin lamp. On the left top side of the cover is written in ink "1923 Last day of School Token." Inside is information on McKinney School, Teacher, school officers and pupils. Last two pages are poems, The Close of School and Truth and Virtue. The pamphlet is 3 1/4" X 6 1 /4". Two holes at the spine with a red silk thread holding it together. The lady on the pamphlet is the teacher who made up the pamphlet to give to her students the last day of schoo.. -Beverly Hunter Aper 8/8/2002 |
