The address book has a worn, black cover with golden letters on the front side of the cover and golden edges of the pages. On the front it says "Where is it?". The inside of the cover is covered in blue paper. On the inside of the front cover "Schweitz" is written in pencil in the top corner to the viewer's left. On the next page, which is also blue, it says "A. J. Clement" at the top of the page. On the pages in the book names and addresses are written in ink, pen, or pencil. Not all the letters on the flaps are visible. Just before "N" there is a paper scrap with an address on that has been secured using adhesive take. Between "R" and "T" a paper scrap with an address on had been secured to the page using a pin. The pin has been removed but the scrap has been left on the page where it was found. The same goes for a loose scrap of paper that was found inside the book. A loose, blue envelope was found inside the book between the cover and the first page. This is kept in the accession file. There are watermarks with either writing or what looks like a coat of arms on many of the pages. There are a number of loose pages, and some of the pages are in the wrong order. The pages have been left where they were found.
In the book there are addresses in Denmark, Japan, the USA, France, China, Germany, Sweden, Spain, and England. There is a single address written in Japanese characters (between "R" and "T"). It is the same address as the one written in the latin alphabet just above it. The addresses are not in strict alphabetic order.
