Scope / Description |
Framed charter for Lodge #152 of the Danish Sisterhood in America out of Akron, Ohio. It is rectangular in shape and vertically oriented. The certificate has a border around the outer edges consisting of geometric designs and floral patterns in blocks, with cherubs in each corner and figures at the centers of the two long sides. Inside the border at top is the title that reads, "THE SUPREME LODGE/OF/The Danish Sisterhood in North-America/DSS/To All Whom it May Concern:". Below this is the text including member names. In the lower viewer's left corner is a gold seal with a red and white ribbon extending off the bottom to the viewer's right. The charter is signed by the Supreme President and Supreme Secretary of the organization on the twentieth of October 1917. The charter is housed in a wide wood frame that rounds upward slightly to the exterior perimeter. It is stained a dark brown color with a clear varnish. 21 5/8W x 25 3/4L |
