Single colorized postcard. It's an artistic rendition of Mount Rushmore in Black Hills, SD. There is a tall pine tree on the right side, clouds in the background. All four presidential heads are visible. At the bottom is printed "226 Mt. rushmore National Memorial, Black Hills, So. Dak." and the number "8A572". On the back is handwritten the date "Sept. 24, 1938. The postcard has not been used/mailed. Gutzon Borglum, a Danish-American, was an artist and sculptor famous for creating the monumental presidential heads at Mount Rushmore in Black Hills, South Dakota, as well as other public works of art. 3 1/2" L x 5 1/2" W (Viewer's perspective used throughout catalog.) |
