Scope / Description |
Hardcover diary, vertically oriented, black covers. The front cover has a gold border around the edges, two sets of double lines with scrolled decorations at the corners and at the ends of each border section. Inside the open center space, at the top, is "MY / TRIP ABROAD", also in gold. Inside toward the front is a title page with the title on it and an illustration of a ship, as well as a green emblem, likely from the publisher ("REED"). A series of images of flags and then information like time changes, distances between cities, depth of seas, and more are found at the front. Following sections include things like itinerary, places visited, and autographs. There is also an address section at the back. Many pages are filled in. There is also a black and white photo in the "Going" section of a man who was likely the captain of the ship. Attached to the back cover is a black loop for holding a writing utensil. Imprinted into the back cover at the bottom right is "Germany". Just inside the back cover, at the bottom left, is printed "Germany" in black. PROVENANCE: The writer of this diary is unknown.
